⁵² He named the second son Ephraim. He said, “Yes, God has made me fruitful in the land where I was afflicted.”^[a]

⁵³ So the seven years of abundance in the land of Egypt came to an end. ⁵⁴ The seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had said. There was famine in every land, but in the whole land of Egypt there was bread.
